Chennai Corporation registers 89,691 pet dogs

The Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) registered details of 89,691 pet dogs and issued licenses to 43,644 of these, as of Sunday (November 30, 2025). According to a press release, seven centres administered rabies vaccination and fitted microchips to 726 pets while issuing ownership certificates to their owners. The centres included Thiru.Vi.Ka Nagar, Puliyanthope, Lloyds Colony, Nungambakkam, Kannammapet, Meenambakkam, and the Sholinganallur dog breeding centre on Sunday.
