Two men were arrested in Chennai for assaulting a lorry driver and robbing him of cash at Vyasarpadi.
According to the police, Pandian (50), a native of Pudukkottai district, has been working as a lorry driver and staying near the railway goods shed at Korukkupet Two other lorry drivers, Parthasarathy and Poovarasan, who are also working at the same goods shed, has been frequently harassing Pandian by demanding money from him.
On Saturday (November 8, 2025) morning, while Pandian was at the railway goods shed, both Parthasarathy and Poovarasan approached him again and demanded money. When Pandian refused, they verbally abused him, assaulted him, and threatened him by holding a knife to his neck. They then snatched ₹500 from his shirt pocket and fled the scene.
Police arrested the suspects — Parthasarathy alias Sarathi (30) and Poovarasan (26), both residents of Mullai Nagar, Vyasarpadi. Investigations revealed that Parthasarathy already has five criminal cases against him, while Poovarasan has one.
