The Christmas season was formally ushered in with the first cake mixing ceremony organised in a festive atmosphere recently.
Lt. Governor K. Kailashnathan was chief guest at the annual cake mixing ceremony at the Accord Puducherry as part of a cherished tradition that marks the joyful beginning of Christmas celebrations.
French Consul General Etienne Rolland-Piègue and Pondicherry University Vice Chancellor P. Prakash Babu were among the dignitaries who participated in the event, that event featured the blending of over 200 kilograms of dry fruits and nuts with 50 litres of premium spirits including wine, rum, and other liqueurs.
The ceremony was led by Venkatesh Bhat, CEO – Accord Group of Hotels, Arunraj, COO, Thangarajan, Director, Vairakumar, vice president, and Anand, General Manager with a team of chefs under Kumarakrishnan, executive chef.
The rich mixture of fruits and spirits will be soaked for 45 days, after which the ingredients will be transformed into delectable plum cakes to be served throughout the Christmas season.
