A class 10 student, Shrikant Shetty, was found dead in the Madisalu stream at Perduru Adapady in Udupi’s Hiryadka police station limits on Monday.
The police said that Shrikant went with his father to Perdur on Sunday. He left his father and went to his grandmother’s house in Alangar Perduru. The boy called his father from his grandmother’s place and said that he was going to swim in a nearby river.
When the boy failed to return home, family members searched and then filed a missing complaint at the police station on Sunday evening.
The police said that Shrikant drowned in the water after getting stuck in the current of the stream.
