Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, who completed two years in office on Sunday, after his historic win in the 2023 Assembly elections, said that dreaming big for the nation and working for public welfare require immense courage and a strong resolve, and the people of Telangana had given him both.

In a message to the four crore people on his two years in office, Mr. Reddy explained the initiatives he had taken and promises fulfilled during this period and expressed gratitude to them for giving him the courage, a mandate that enabled the Congress government to take charge and pursue an ambitious agenda for the State’s future.

Reflecting on the government’s two-year journey, Mr. Reddy stated that he has worked “day and night, without pause,” to place Telangana on a higher pedestal. He said that the youth, who were “gasping under the failures of previous misgovernance”, have been given new life through a massive recruitment drive. Farmers, burdened by debt and distress, have been supported in ways that have become a model for the entire country.

The CM highlighted key welfare measures, including financial support for girls and women, initiatives to uplift backward communities, and the introduction of a caste census and community-wise categorisation. These, he said, brought meaningful recognition to the long-standing demands of marginalised groups such as the Madiga community.

He also underlined reforms in education, describing it as the true “weapon of livelihood.” The creation of Young India Integrated Model Schools, along with the establishment of a Skill University and a Sports University, were among the major initiatives launched in this period. He also noted the official recognition recently granted to the popular song “Jaya Jayahe Telangana” as per public demand.

He listed a series of welfare programmes implemented over the past two years, including fine rice distribution, Indiramma housing, 200 units of free electricity, free bus travel for women, subsidised cooking gas at ₹500, a ₹500 bonus for fine variety paddy, and a landmark initiative aimed at enabling one crore girls to become financially empowered.

Unveiling an expansive future vision, Mr. Reddy said that the policies and programmes being drafted under “Telangana Rising” are set to reposition the State globally. He described the upcoming Bharat Future City project as the launchpad for Telangana’s next phase of accelerated development.

“Until yesterday, Telangana had one identity. After the Telangana Global Summit, it will have an entirely new identity,” he said, expressing confidence that the event will usher in a new era of global engagement and investment.
