Chief Minister M.K. Stalin will inaugurate completed projects, lay foundation stones for new ones, and distribute welfare assistance to 1.84 lakh beneficiaries during his visit to Erode on November 26.

A release said Mr. Stalin will inaugurate the memorial hall featuring the statue of freedom fighter Maaveeran Pollan at Jayaramapuram in Modakkurichi taluk at 10 a.m. The memorial, built at a cost of ₹4.90 crore, has been established by the State government following long-pending demands from the Pollan Warrior History Restoration Committee.

Maaveeran Pollan, born in Nallamangapalayam near Arachalur, was a commander in the force of Theeran Chinnamalai. He played a key role in the victories in the Battle of Bhavani (1801), the Battle of Odanilai (1802), and the Battle of Arachalur (1803). Pollan was shot dead by forces under British commander Colonel Harris near Odanilai Fort in Jayaramapuram.

After inaugurating the memorial, Mr. Stalin will visit Odanilai to pay floral tributes at the memorial of freedom fighter Theeran Chinnamalai.

Later, at a function to be held near the newly established satellite bus terminal at Solar on Karur Road, Mr. Stalin will inaugurate completed projects worth ₹605 crore, lay foundation stones for new projects, and distribute welfare assistance to 1,84,491 beneficiaries.

In the evening, he will unveil the statue of C.K. Paramasivam at the Aavin Dairy Farm campus in Chithode. The statue has been installed at a cost of ₹50 lakh. Mr. Paramasivam, who hailed from Chinniyampalayam, is credited with pioneering efforts that led to Tamil Nadu’s White Revolution, strengthening milk production, cooperative dairy development, and the establishment of institutions such as Aavin.
