The Erode Corporation’s newly established integrated bus terminal at Solar on Karur Road will be inaugurated by Chief Minister M.K. Stalin during his visit to the district on November 26.

The facility, built at a cost of ₹74.90 crore, will handle buses bound for the southern districts and will be the city’s second bus terminal. Spread over 19.9 acres, the terminal has a built-up area of 12,247 sq. m. and features 63 bus bays, 134 shops, parking for 883 two-wheelers, and an auto stand accommodating 100 vehicles.

Passenger amenities include reservation counters, toilets, hotels, and a cloakroom. The first floor houses two restaurants, separate dormitories for men and women, and a modern commercial hall.

Mr. Stalin, while participating in a function to be held near the terminal, will formally inaugurate the facility.

A Corporation engineer said they had informed the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation Limited (TNSTC) that the terminal was ready for use and that buses can begin operations. The civic body’s efforts to auction the shops on the premises did not initially yield results, but officials are hopeful of successfully auctioning them once bus services begin.
