Cold wave alert in Telangana dists on December 9; 12 dists record below 10°C

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a cold wave alert for seven Telangana districts for Tuesday (December 9, 2025).

According to IMDs latest bulletin, cold wave conditions are very likely to prevail at isolated pockets in Adilabad, Kumaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancheiral, Nirmal, Sangareddy, Medak and Kamareddy districts.

Hyderabad and its surrounding areas for the next 24 hours will see partly cloudy sky. “Mist and hazy conditions are very likely to prevail during morning and night hours. The minimum temperatures are likely to be below by 2°C to 3°C during the next two days. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 31°C and 13°C respectively,” the bulletin said.

Meanwhile, according to data from Telangana Development Planning Society (TGDPS), between December 7 and 8 mornings, a total of 12 districts across the State recorded temperatures below 10°C. Kohir in Sangareddy district recorded the lowest temperature in the State at 7.2°C.

This was followed by 7.8°C Bantwaram (Vikarabad), 7.9°C in Bheempoor (Adilabad), 8.2°C in Nasrullabad (Kamareddy) and Tiryani (Kumaram Bheem Asifabad), 8.4°C in Shivampet (Medak), Kotgiri (Nizamabad) and University of Hyderabad (Rangareddy), 8.9°C in Akbarpet (Siddipet), 9°C in Pembi (Nirmal), 9.2°C in Rudrangi (Rajanna Sircilla) and 9.9°C in Kathlapur (Jagtial). The other 21 districts recorded minimum temperatures between 10°C and 15°C. Ghatkesar in Medchal Malkajgiri recorded 10.2°C and Bahadurpura in Hyderabad recorded 13.1°C.
