The Department of English, Osmania University (OU), in collaboration with the University of Western Australia (UWA), Perth, and the Association for the Study of Australasia in Asia (ASAA), is organising a three-day international conference titled ‘Plural Pasts, Shared Futures: Global Literary Interconnections’ from November 25 to 27.
Bama, a renowned Tamil Dalit writer, will be in conversation with Julie Janson, an Aboriginal Australian novelist, playwright and poet, in a Plenary session. Harriet White, Vice Consul, Australian Consulate-General Bengaluru, will be the guest.
Other plenary speakers include Prof. Tony Hughes-d’Aeth, Chair of Australian Literature, UWA and Dr. Kieran Dolin, Senior Honorary Research Fellow, UWA & President, ASAA (Australia), said conference convenors Professor B. Vijaya and Professor Parimala Kulkarni. They said the theme ‘Plural Pasts, Shared Futures’ invites an exploration of the multiplicity of historical experiences and the possibilities for collective imagination and solidarity in shaping inclusive global futures.
