Congress councillor from Nadakkavu division in Kozhikode Corporation, Alphonsa Mathew, is planning to file her nomination for the forthcoming local body polls from the same division, as a candidate of the Aam Aadmi Party.

She told The Hindu on Monday (November 10) that the common people are fed up with the three main coalitions, the LDF, the UDF and the NDA, as all of them are ā€˜corrupt’. ā€œPeople need a change and an option. AAP is known for its battle against corruption. Hence, I chose to be an AAP candidate,ā€ she said.

Earlier in the day, Ms. Mathew had resigned from Congress. At least 12 other workers had given up their Congress membership on Monday following a difference of opinion regarding seat sharing and the selection of candidates for the Corporation.
