If the Congress high command can not resolve the confusion among leaders in Karnataka immediately, it should dissolve the Assembly and face elections, Union Minister Pralhad Joshi said in Hubballi on Sunday (November 30, 2025).
“Reading the news about the breakfast meeting between the Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy CM D.K. Shivakumar in Bengaluru, it seems there was no meaningful outcome. It would have sent a message that all is well, if the CM had said he would complete his term and that the DCM should have said he would drop his claims. But that did not happen. Did they have to arrange a breakfast meeting to issue a joint statement that they would abide by the High Command’s orders?’’ he said. He was speaking to reporters after watching the latest telecast of Mann Ki Baat by PM Narendra Modi.
“I think the instability in state politics continues. Although it seems that there is a ceasefire between Mr. Siddaramaiah and Mr. Shivakumar, the infighting seems to have intensified, he added.
“Political instability unseen anywhere else in the country is now in Karnataka. People are reeling from terrible corruption. The administration is being carried out by some officials without any boundaries. The financial situation of the state is pathetic,” he said.
“There is an open attempt at buying MLAs and the Congress high command is quiet. We have great respect for AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge, but he is helpless before the Gandhi-Nehru family, which is the real power centre,’’ he said. The State government failed to give me details under PM-KUSUM scheme. But I am happy that it is being properly implemented.
He said the PM had raised several important issues like beekeeping in Karnataka, the Tagore Museum in Karwar, the importance of the Local for Vocal campaign and various social and cultural issues. The minister also distributed subsidised farm inputs to SC\ST farmers under the municipal grants.
