The Congress has reached an understanding with its alliance partners in the United Democratic Front (UDF) over seat sharing for the elections to the Kozhikode district panchayat.

According to UDF district chairman K. Balanarayanan and convener Ahammed Punnakkal, the Congress will field candidates in 14 of the 28 divisions. The Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) will contest in 11 divisions. Kerala Congress, Revolutionary Marxist Party of India, and the Communist Marxist Party will get one division each.

In the elections held in 2020, the UDF had a tactical tie-up with the Welfare Party of India, whose candidate was fielded from the Kuttiady division. This time, no division has been given to that party.

Edachery, Kayakkodi, Meppayyur, Puthuppady, Kodenchery, Chathamangalam, Kunnamangalam, Kakkodi, Narikkuni, Balussery, Kakkur, Arikkulam, Payyoli Angadi, and Chorod will have Congress candidates. Nadapuram, Mokeri, Ulliyeri, Panangad, Thamarassery, Karassery, Omassery, Kadalundi, Chelannur, Atholi, and Maniyur divisions will go to the IUML. The CMP will field its candidate in Pantheerankavu, the Kerala Congress in Perambra and RMPI in Azhiyur.
