Congress worker murdered in a clash at Sakharayapatna

A gram panchayat member was murdered in a clash at Sakharayapatna in Kadur taluk on December 5 night.

Ganesh, 38, was allegedly attacked by a group of people including Nitin and Sanjay, who also suffered injuries in the incident. Old rivalry is said to be the reason for the clash. The accused are undergoing treatment.

Ganesh, a member of Sakharayapatna gram panchayat, had been associated with the Congress party. He is survived by his wife and two children.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, reacting to the incident, said that the police would investigate the case and arrest the accused.
