Consecration of Thillai Govindaraja Perumal temple held in Chidambaram

The consecration of the Thillai Govindaraja Perumal temple, situated within the precincts of the Sabanayagar ( Natarajar) temple in Chidambaram in Cuddalore district attracted a large number of devotees on Monday. The consecration was held after 30 years.

The consecration of the temple, one of the 108 Divyadesams, was held between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. Consecration was performed for the main tower of the temple and other shrines.

A large posse of police personnel was deployed in Chidambaram to ensure safety and security of the devotees and the smooth conduct of the event.
