Consultative meeting heldon SIR of electoral rolls

A consultative meeting on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Chennai was held with representatives of all recognised political parties on Wednesday, under the chairmanship of District Election Officer and Corporation Commissioner J. Kumaragurubaran. A press release said monitoring officers have been appointed for all 16 Assembly constituencies in Chennai. The exercise will involve household enumeration, verification of existing voters, identification of deceased voters, and inclusion of new eligible voters. It will be carried out from November 4 to December 4, with draft rolls to be published on December 9.
