A young couple, who were soon to be married, died in a road accident near Chikkabenakal village in Gangavati taluk of Koppal district on Sunday night.
The deceased were identified as Kariyappa, 26, of Hanumanahatti village in Koppal taluk and Kavita of Mustur village in Karatagi taluk.
According to police, the incident took place when the couple was returning after completing a pre-wedding photo shoot.
Kariyappa was riding his motorcycle to drop Kavita home when a lorry collided with their vehicle near Chikkabenakal, the police said. Kavita died on the spot, while Kariyappa died while being taken to the hospital.
A case has been registered, and investigation is under way.
