The Salem City police felicitated an electrician and his wife who handed over a bag with 10 sovereign of jewellery found on the road here on Monday (October 27, 2025).
According to the police, on Sunday night (October 26, 2025), Basha (58), of Reddipatti, an electrician and his wife, Parveen, were heading to their house from Shevapet on a two-wheeler. While they reached Leigh Bazaar, they found a woman’s handbag on the road. They found 10 sovereign of jewellery, an ATM card, and a PAN card inside the bag.
On Monday, the couple approached the Salem City Police Commissioner’s office and handed over the bag. The police identified the bag owner as Poongothai, a resident of Shevapet and handed over the bag.
