Ramanathapuram District Mahila Court on Tuesday sentenced a 21-year-old man to 20-year rigorous imprisonment in a Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act case.
According to sources, D. Vijay, 21, a resident of Mudukulathur, sexually harassed two six-year-old girls who were playing in his neighbourhood in April 2023.
Based on the complaint from the victims’ parents, the Kilathooval police registered a POCSO case against the accused and arrested him.
As the trial of the case was held in Ramanathapuram District Mahila Court, Judge Kavitha on Tuesday sentenced the accused to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of ₹4,000.
