The CPI has launched a campaign to mobilise the public to press for measures to repair and restore the poorly maintained roads in Chinnaiyanpettai in Thattanchavadi.

CPI leaders K. Sethu Selvam, Ezhilan Segar and others who led the campaign to mobilise signatures of affected public in the area said the pothole-filled roads were causing accidents while stagnant cesspools raised the risk of health hazards for the population.

The CPI claimed that though a tender was floated and contract awarded by the Adi Dravidar Welfare Department to repair the roads and construct side drains on both sides of the road, the work had stalled.
