The Communist Party of India(Marxist-Leninist) Liberation will participate in the protests against Special Intensive Revision exercise called by the DMK on November 11. The CPI(ML)(L) has also demanded that the Election Commission of India (ECI) put a halt to the exercise. The resolutions were passed at the party’s State Committee meeting here in Krishnagiri on Friday.
The party’s State Committee has slammed the ECI for unilaterally pushing SIR in 12 more States, despite the massive protests against disenfranchisement as seen in Bihar and the pending case in the Supreme Court. The party has also announced SIR opposition general conference on December 12 in Thoothukudi.
CPI(ML)(L) has also resolved its support and solidarity with the protesting sanitation workers in Chennai. It has extended its support to all workers’ unions call for strike by sanitation workers on December 2.
The party has also objected to the labour law amendments allowing women’s participation in dangerous operations under the Factories Act. It has called for dropping the amendment.
The party has also demanded pinning of liability on the hostel management in the discovery of camera in the bathroom of the women’s hostel of TATA Electronics.
The party has also passed a resolution calling for just working conditions and fair wages, and has vowed to take up struggles for the workers in Krishnagiri.
The party has demanded redistribution of fallow lands with 2 acres per landless workers in Krishnagiri. The party has also demanded issue of house pattas to houseless residing on porampoke lands.
