Confederation of Real Estate Developers’ Associations of India (CREDAI) Mangaluru, in association with venture studio and incubator Section Infin-8 Foundation, will hold BuildSmart Innovation Challenge. Students, innovators and start-ups have been asked to register for the event before November 30.
Talking to reporters in Mangaluru, founder-director of Section Infin8 Foundation, Vishwas U.S. said the event will be a two-phase national programme designed to identify and nurture practical ideas that make real estate and construction more efficient, transparent, and sustainable.
As part of the challenge, the participants have been given four problem statements. The first one will be developing ‘Construction Waste Management Platform’, a traceable digital system for recycling construction waste and reuse. The second is to build ‘CREDAI Member App’, a unified communication and grievance tracking platform for CREDAI members. The third one will be developing of RERA single window approval system for simplifying and digitalising regulatory approvals and compliance processes. The fourth one is to develop ‘Unified Construction Workforce Platform’, a verified registry for skilled labour.
There is also an open innovation challenge where participants can present an innovation that advances green construction and renewable energy use.
CREDAI Mangaluru CEO Arjun J. Rao said a team of about four members can take part in the challenge. Teams have to register on www.buildsmartinnovation.space.
The top 10 teams will be mentored by CREDAI industry leaders throughout December. Their prototypes will be showcased during EMERGE 2026 event to be held at Tannirbhavi in Mangaluru between January 9 and 11, 2026. The top participants will receive cash prize of ₹1 lakh, Mr. Rao said.
