The Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) and Vellore District Cricket Association jointly organised cricket matches for teams that are part of the District Cricket Association in Vellore on Sunday.
According to a press release, prizes were distributed for winning teams by Kasi Viswanathan, CEO, CSK, and Srinivasa Raj, president, TNCA. A total of 17 teams participated in the tournament, which was held for 2022-23 and 2023-24.
In his presidential address, G.V. Sampath, chairman, Naruvi Hospitals, and president of Vellore District Cricket Association, said that the Vellore Cricket Association requires a suitable playground. In this regard, TNCA should make a request to the State government to allot adequate land for a playground, he said.
In the tournament, the Vellore Venus Cricket Team won first place and the Metro Team won second place. They were awarded revolving trophies, and prizes were given to the best batters and others.
S.N. Jayamurugan, Chairman and Managing Director SNJ Groups, and Sridharan, secretary, Vellore Cricket Association, were present on the occasion, the release said.
