Crop insurance premium for banana, tapioca announced in Tiruvarur, February 28 is last date to pay

The insurance premium amount to be remitted by farmers cultivating banana and tapioca in Tiruvarur district has been announced.

While farmers have to remit ₹3,595 per acre for the banana, they should pay a premium of ₹1,088 per acre for tapioca, according to an official release. Stating that the last date for insuring banana and tapioca will be February 28, 2026, the release directed the farmers and cultivators to insure their crop either through e-Seva centres or through the nationalised banks and primary agriculture cooperative societies.
