SRIKAKULAM:

Srikakulam District Youth Congress president Pudi Kiran Kumar urged the government to take up cyclone relief measures in the most affected and remote areas of Srikakulam district on Wednesday. Along with Srirama Raksha Charitable Foundation president Boddepalli Sriramachandra Murthy, he distributed fruits, biscuits and essential commodities to villagers of Donkuru in Ichchapuram mandal which was badly affected by Cyclone Montha.

He said that the the people in the coastal mandals of Ichachapuram, Sompeta, Mandasa mandals have been facing untold miseries due to the cyclone’s impact.

Mr. Kiran Kumar urged Srikakulam Special Officer K.V.N.Chakradhar Babu and in-charge Collector Farman Ahmed Khan to visit the cyclone affected areas and announce relief measures for farmers whose coconut and cashew groves were badly damaged due to the heavy rains in the last few days.
