Stressing the need for team work in mitigating the impact of cyclone Montha, Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Thursday (October 30, 2025) has made it mandatory for officials of different departments to stay put on field for effective relief and rehabilitation works.

Priority should be accorded to procurement of food grain, paddy in particular, and Civil Supplies department officials should advise the district Collectors about the steps that should be taken in this direction. Special Officers drawn from the mandal level administration should be nominated for each procurement centre and they should be entrusted with the responsibility of procurement, he said.

The Chief Minister said that steps should be taken to shift the food grains to function halls nearby and the district Collectors should get reports on the procurement from each of the centres on a daily basis. “Action should be initiated against officials who fail to submit the situation reports,” he said.

The Chief Minister held video conference on Thursday (October 30, 2025) with senior officials and collectors of affected districts to review the situation arising out of the heavy rains that lashed different parts of the State under the influence of the cyclonic storm. He directed the district collectors and superintendents of police to jointly set up monitoring centres to supervise the relief works.

Officials concerned should monitor damaged roads on a constant basis and take steps to divert traffic wherever necessary. They should monitor the situation at tanks, stream and major and minor irrigation projects and alert locals in advance in case of emergency.
