Post Cyclone Montha, officials of the Alluri Sitharama Raju (ASR) district administration began restoration activities on a war footing in the Agency areas on Wednesday. Additionally, they also took up the assessment of crop loss. Many hamlets, especially in Ananthagiri, Dumbriguda, Hukumpeta, Araku mandals suffered damage from the heavy rains and strong winds.

According to the authorities, around 780 tribals were shifted to rehabilitation centres in the district. Nearly 106 houses were damaged due to the strong winds. Multiple teams have been deployed to remove tree debris, restore road connectivity and repair electric poles. The District Collector has ordered officials to prepare a report on the overall damages and submit it by Thursday evening. The ghat road to Araku from S. Kota is cut-off as waterflowed over the roads at many points.

Meanwhile, Superintendent of Police, Amit Bardar visited the cyclone-affected villages in Sunkarimetta, Galikonda and other areas in Araku Valley. The SP instructed the police staff to remain stationed in the affected locations until the roads are cleared and water levels recede.
