Telugu Desam Party (TDP) State president and Gajuwaka MLA Palla Srinivasa Rao on Monday (October 27, 2025) appealed to the citizens across the State and his Assembly segment to remain vigilant and exercise utmost caution in view of cyclone ‘Montha’.
Citing weather department warnings, he urged residents, particularly those in low-lying and coastal areas, to be ready for relocation to safer zones if necessary.
Mr. Srinivasa Rao is overseeing the situation from the TDP office in Gajuwaka, holding continuous review meetings with officials from the Revenue, Police, Electricity, Panchayat Raj, Municipal, Medical, Animal Husbandry, and Civil Supplies Departments.
He directed the officials that they maintain round-the-clock monitoring through inter-departmental coordination and that immediate action should be taken to clear uprooted trees or restore disrupted power lines.
Officials were instructed to keep the public informed through messages on WhatsApp and public address systems regarding rehabilitation centres, cyclone shelters, and emergency arrangements. Medical staff, mobile health teams, and veterinary services are to remain on standby.
He emphasised that drinking water supply, electricity restoration, and food distribution should continue without interruption, with each department working in tandem to prevent service disruptions.
Given the cyclone’s likely impact on Gangavaram, Yarada, Dibbapalem, Mellivani Palem, Nellimukku, and Dayal Nagar, Mr. Srinivasa Rao instructed officials to implement preventive measures on a war footing. Fishermen were strictly advised not to venture into the sea, and to secure their boats and fishing nets safely.
Mr. Srinivasa Rao appealed to party functionaries and cadre in cyclone-affected zones to remain readily accessible to the public, coordinate closely with local authorities, and ensure that no citizen faces hardship or neglect during the storm.
