In connection with Police Commemoration Week, Hyderabad City Police, Central Zone, in association with HCL and Hyderabad Cyclists, organised a ‘Cyclothon’ on Sunday to pay tribute to police personnel who laid down their lives in the line of duty.

The event, which began at People’s Plaza and concluded at the historic Seven Tombs in Tolichowki, saw enthusiastic participation from around 380 cyclists and 100 police officers and staff. The initiative was conducted under the direction of Director General of Police B. Shivadhar Reddy and City Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar.

DCP (Central) K. Shilpavalli attended as the chief guest, along with ACP Gandhinagar Yadagiri, Khairatabad SHO Venkat Reddy and representatives from HCL.

Addressing the participants, DCP Shilpavalli expressed gratitude to HCL and Hyderabad Cyclists for their collaboration in organising the event to commemorate the sacrifices of police martyrs. She urged the public to take part in large numbers in the ‘Mega Blood Donation Camp’ scheduled across all zones of Hyderabad on Monday (October 27).

The DCP also appealed to citizens to promptly report any suspicious activities to Dial 100 or the nearest police station. “A safe and crime-free society can only be built through the cooperation of the public,” she said.
