
Chancellor of Sharnbasva University Dakshayini Avva being conferred the Tontadarya Siddalinga Swamy Memorial International Award in Dubai on Saturday.

Chancellor of Sharnbasva University and president of the Sharanabasaveshwar Vidya Vardak Sangha Dakshayini Avva was conferred the prestigious Tontadarya Siddalinga Swamy Memorial International Award at a grand ceremony in Dubai on Saturday.
The award, instituted by Vachana TV in memory of the revered saint of Gadag, was presented jointly by eminent space scientist and former ISRO Chairman A.S. Kiran Kumar and Panditaradhya Swamy of Sanehalli Math, in the presence of the former Chief Minister D.V. Sadananda Gowda and several dignitaries at the Millennium Plaza there.
The award carries a cash prize, a plaque, a commendation certificate and a shawl.
Speaking on the occasion, Panditaradhya Swamy lauded Dr. Avva’s contributions, noting that she has given a new direction to the ethos of Dasoha at the Sharanabasaveshwar Samsthan by strengthening both Anna Dasoha and Jnana Dasoha through expansive educational initiatives and the establishment of Sharnbasva University.
“Her service to society is truly worth emulating,” he observed.
Mr. Kiran Kumar, in his address, said that while the world is witnessing rapid technological advancements, it is ultimately the brilliance of the human mind that drives innovation.
He congratulated Dr. Avva for her dedication to educational and social development.
The event was attended by the ninth Mahadasoha Peetadipathi of the Sharanabasaveshwar Samsthan Doddappa Appa, secretary of the sangha Basavaraj Deshmukh, Dean of Sharnbasva University Lakshmi Patil Maka, seer Mathe Gangadevi and several other dignitaries.
As part of its first anniversary celebrations, Vachana TV presented seven international awards instituted in honour of spiritual leaders and visionaries who work for social reform.
Among the recipients are Ashwini Puneeth Rajkumar (Sharanabasawappa Appa Memorial Award), Vijayalakshmi and Gurunath Gaddi (Fa Gu Halkatti Award), music director Hamsalekha (Jagadguru Lingananda Award), Mathe Gangadevi (Mahanta Appugalu Memorial Award), S.G. Siddaramaiah (Taralabalu Jagadguru Shivakumar Award) and I.R. Matpathi (Channabasava Pattadevaru Memorial Award).
Vachana TV, established a year ago to promote the philosophy of 12th century social reformer Mahatma Basaveshwara and disseminate the rich heritage of Vachana literature, has quickly garnered widespread viewership for its insightful and socially relevant programming.
