A 30-year-old dance instructor was killed after a truck rammed his stationary car, near Pemmanahalli, in Nelamangala early on Tuesday.

The deceased has been identified as Sudheendra, a resident of Thyamagondlu village.

According to the police, Sudheendra took the delivery of his new car on Monday. On Tuesday morning, while driving along the Pemmanahalli road to visit his relative, the car reportedly developed a technical snag and came to a halt on the middle of the road.

He parked the car on the roadside and stepped out to inspect the issue, when a speeding lorry coming from behind crashed into the stationary car, resulting in Sudheendra’s instant death.

Passers-by rushed to help and alerted the Dobspet police.

Sudheendra had gained recognition through popular Kannada television reality shows, including Dance Show, and had built a successful career as a dancer, teacher, and event organiser. He was running a dance school in Dobspet.

The Dobspet police seized the truck and registered a case against the driver, identified as P. Kumar, and arrested him. He was subjected to medical examination to ascertain if he was intoxicated at the time of the accident.
