The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) on Friday (December 12, 2025) demolished a bungalow in Sainik Farms during an anti-encroachment drive. Officials said the structure was built illegally on government-owned land. The exercise began in the morning with the help of several earth movers, as police and paramilitary personnel stood guard.

Property owner Aadil Sherwani claimed that the action was taken even as the matter is pending before the Delhi High Court.

The urban body said in a statement that on December 5, 2025, nine properties in the Tilpath Valley area were identified for the first phase of demolition and five properties, including two fully built farmhouses, were removed, helping reclaim about four acres of land. However, Mr. Sherwani’s property was not demolished that day in compliance with the court’s directions. However, the court did not grant any stay during the hearing on December 10. 2025. The demolition of that property, over half an acre of land, was therefore scheduled for Friday (December 12, 2025) and carried out at 7 a.m.
