Lieutenant-Governor V.K. Saxena on Sunday said the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has granted permission to organise the ‘Phool Walon Ki Sair’ festival this year, days after the centuries-old event embodying religious harmony was put off by organisers over the DDA’s “limited permission”.
Mr. Saxena warned that any officer found acting against public interest would face punishment under laid-down provisions. As per Raj Niwas, the DDA has informed the organisers of its decision, and the festival is likely to be held between February and March next year.
However, the organisers from the Anjuman Sair-e-Gul Faroshan society said they are yet to receive any formal communication regarding the permission.
