The Delhi police on Thursday organised a workshop and training session for hotel security staff in the Capital’s Aerocity area to curb the sale of drugs, an officer said.
The initiative was led by the Anti-Narcotics Task Force. “The program was designed to boost vigilance against drug trafficking and improve coordination between law enforcement and private establishments,” said the officer.
The officer said that over 85 chief security officers from major hotels in Aerocity attended the workshop.
“Participants were informed about the current drug situation in the Capital, the types of narcotics commonly found in the illicit market, the physical and behavioural signs of drug abuse, and the main sources supplying these substances,” said the officer.
A key highlight of the workshop was the introduction and demonstration of the MANAS portal and 1933 helpline, for confidentially reporting drug-related activities. “We also highlighted the portal’s anonymity features, urging hotel security teams to report any suspicious activities promptly and without fear of being identified,” the officer added.
