The Anti-Corruption Bureau arrested K. Srinivasulu, Assistant Director of Survey Settlement and Land Records, Rangareddy district on Thursday (December 4, 2025) following raids carried out at his residence in Raidurgam and six other locations linked to his relatives, friends, benamis and associates.

A case of disproportionate assets has been booked against the official. Investigators said Srinivasulu, who resides at My Home Bhooja Apartments in Raidurgam, had allegedly acquired assets beyond his known sources of income by engaging in corrupt practices. During the searches, officials found documents related to a flat at My Home Bhooja, a food processing unit and rice mill in Narayanpet district, eleven acres of agricultural land in Karnataka, eleven acres in Anantapur, four plots in Mahabubnagar and three plots in Narayanpet district.

Officers also found ₹5,00,000 in cash, gold ornaments weighing about 1.6 kilograms, silver articles weighing around 770 grams, and two cars. Officials said the market value of the identified assets is likely to be significantly higher than their recorded value.

According to case records, Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Authority Commissioner (HYDRAA) A. V. Ranganath had submitted a petition on August 30, 2024 alleging irregularities in permissions issued for constructions in the buffer zone of Errakunta Pond in Pragati Nagar under Nizampet municipality. The petition stated that the land is government property and that permissions had been issued using incorrect geo-coordinates that placed the constructions 75 metres away from the actual pond location. The accused official was also found to have provided inadequate documentation and was suspected of altering coordinates.

Officials said the matter was presented before the High Court, which allowed construction to proceed only if it did not obstruct identification of the full tank level or buffer zone. The Nizampet Municipal Commissioner subsequently issued permissions without proper procedure and did not act on reminders from HMDA to revoke them. Illegal structures were demolished by HYDRAA on August 15, 2024.

The ACB said verification of additional assets linked to Srinivasulu is underway and the case remains under investigation. Residents can report bribery demands to the ACB toll-free line 1064, via WhatsApp on 9440446106 or through the bureau’s official social media channels. The identity of complainants will be kept confidential.
