Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar on Saturday said he was ready to constitute a committee led by Leader of Opposition R. Ashok to review and suggest measures regarding the tunnel road project in Bengaluru.
Speaking to reporters at Kanteerava Stadium, Mr. Shivakumar said, “I’m ready to design entry and exit points at the locations they suggest.”
Mr. Ashok has announced a protest on Sunday at Lalbagh against the tunnel road project under the slogan ‘Save Lalbagh, Protect Bengaluru’.
The Deputy Chief Minister urged cooperation from BJP instead of confrontation on the issue, stating that there was no need for Mr. Ashok to protest. “Mr. Ashok is also a legislator from Bengaluru, and he has a responsibility. Let’s all work together,” he said.
Mr. Shivakumar added that he had inspected the entry and exit points near Lalbagh on Friday night and that the government was examining alternative plans. “We are evaluating all options, there is no need to worry,” he said.
