BJP Tamil Nadu president Nainar Nagenthran alleged that Dharmapuri was deliberately ignored by the DMK, because the district returned NDA candidates in all the five Assembly Constituencies.
Speaking at a public meeting in Dharmapuri, Mr. Nagenthran alleged that a litany of “unfulfilled promises” were made by the DMK in the elections.
The irrigation scheme from River Thenpennai to Eachampadi dam that was promised by the DMK remained a pipe dream, Mr. Nagenthran said. “It was a ₹410-crore project that was announced by Edappadi K.Palaniswami under Rule 110 in the Assembly, when he was the Chief Minister. But, the DMK failed to implement it,” he alleged.
He also slammed the DMK alleging its failure to fulfil the promise of SIPCOT, the project that is currently under development.
On the law and order front, Mr. Nagenthran said the Coimbatore rape case was an indicator of a failed policing machinery that was directly under the control of the Chief Minister.
He urged the voters to be clear of who should not be voted back to power.
