AIADMK MLA Sellur K. Raju alleged that “By creating confusion in the enumeration process, the DMK is planning to win using duplicate and bogus voters.”

Speaking to journalists after submitting a petition with the District Collector K.J. Praveen Kumar here on Monday, he said he doubted the intention of Minister P. Moorthy, who claimed that they would win in all the 10 Assembly Constituencies in the district.

Alleging that the ruling party was engaging in fraud that undermines the very purpose of Election Commission of India, he said, “We fear that the district administration is operating with the intention of registering all votes in the voter list after removing only a select few.”

“In most areas sanitation workers and mid-day meal workers are the BLOs. They are also not fully aware of the SIR works,” he added.

Further, he said, that Block Level Officers (BLO) in Madurai district were not properly functioning in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) enumeration works.

While in many areas, BLOs have not even handed over the SIR forms and in many places the SIR forms that were already given were not collected back, he complained.

Though it was claimed that SIR forms were distributed to the public in 284 polling booths in the Madurai West Assembly Constituency, Mr. Sellur Raju expressed several reservations about its genuineness.
