The Royal College of Physicians (RCP), London, has conferred the 2025 Ambuj Nath Bose Prize on chairman of AIG Hospitals Hyderabad D. Nageshwar Reddy, in recognition of his contributions to the field of endoscopy.

The award is presented as part of the RCP’s Harveian Oration, a tradition dating back to 1656 when it was established by William Harvey, the English physician who discovered the circulation of blood and is regarded as the father of modern physiology.

Instituted in 1954, the Ambuj Nath Bose Prize recognises outstanding research in a field chosen by the RCP Council. Dr. Reddy’s recognition marks a milestone, as he becomes only the second Indian to receive the honour, following Dr. C. Gopalan in 1998.
