Duo taken into custody for flying drone camera

Two devotees were detained for questioning on Friday (December 5) for flying a drone camera in the vicinity of ‘Silathoranam’.

According to the TTD, the duo, believed to be ISKCON devotees, were identified as Sulakshan Das and Arjun Das. The vigilance and forest personnel who found them flying a drone camera took them into custody and handed them over to police after preliminary inquiries.

Drone photography and videography is strictly prohibited atop the temple town in view of security considerations. The incident has nevertheless raised questions as to how the duo could reach the town evading the heavily guarded TTD security toll plaza at Alipiri in Tirupati.
