In compliance with a directive from the Madras High Court, the Coimbatore district administration will implement an e-pass system for all vehicles visiting Valparai from November 1, 2025, District Collector Pavankumar G. Giriyappanavar, has announced.

According to the Collector, all travellers to Valparai must obtain an e-pass for their vehicles through the official website https://www.tnepass.tn.gov.in/home before commencing their journey.

To facilitate tourists who arrive without prior registration, arrangements have been made at the Aliyar check-post and the Malakkappara check-post on the Kerala–Tamil Nadu border, where visitors can register and obtain e-passes on site.

Officials from the Revenue, Local administration, Police, and Forest departments will be stationed at these check-posts to monitor compliance with the e-pass requirement.

Tourists have also been advised not to carry or use banned plastic items within the hill station.

Vehicles registered to residents of Valparai taluk, including two-wheelers, four-wheelers, and tourist vehicles, may obtain a one-time local pass by registering as “localite pass” users on the same portal.
