A joint crackdown led by EAGLE Telangana and the Delhi Crime Branch resulted in raids at 20 locations in the national capital, with more than 50 Nigerian nationals arrested for overstaying and a significant haul of narcotics. The operation targeted what investigators described as a Nigerian drug cartel operating across Delhi’s southern and western pockets.
With no individual names released by officials, the enforcement teams focused on groups linked to drug trafficking networks spread across Mehrauli, Sant Garh, Pratap Enclave, Prithvi Park, Nilothi, Chandra Nagar and Munirka. Officers said those detained were involved in distribution networks and multiple drug dens.
The operation involved 124 personnel from Eagle Force, including one SP, eight DSPs, 17 inspectors, 16 sub-inspectors and 82 head constables and police constables, working alongside 100 officers from the Delhi Crime Branch. Almost every available Eagle Force officer was deployed, with teams also dispatched to Greater Noida, Gwalior and Visakhapatnam.
Local police leadership in the three cities assisted the Telangana unit, enabling the arrest of what officials described as a drug kingpin, several women allegedly involved in drug sales and sex work, and key mule account holders who facilitated money movement for the cartel.
The EAGLE officials said the cooperation from Delhi’s Crime Branch and police units in the other cities was exceptional, adding that coordinated operations of this scale will continue.
The agency urged the public to report drug-linked activity through its toll-free number 1908, WhatsApp line 87126 71111 or email tsnabho-hyd@tspolice.gov.in, assuring that all information will remain confidential and credible informants will be rewarded.
