The Enforcement Directorate has filed a supplementary prosecution complaint against businessman Robert Vadra, husband of Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, in a case involving United Kingdom-based arms dealer Sanjay Bhandari, according to agency sources.
Mr. Vadra has denied his role in the case on multiple occasions in the past. The complaint has been filed under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).

The agency alleged that Mr. Vadra assisted Mr. Bhandari and used a property at 12 Bryanston Square, London, which was the “proceeds of crime.”
The ED recorded Mr. Vadra’s statement and “confronted” him with evidence gathered from other countries to which he “did not provide any satisfactory reply.”
Beneficially used
“The evidence gathered by the ED indicates that the property acquired by Sanjay Bhandari was beneficially used by Sh. Robert Vadra for his personal use. Since it was found that Sh. Robert Vadra was in possession of proceeds of crime, the ED filed a supplementary prosecution complaint in Rouse Avenue Court on November 15, 2025. The court will now take up this matter on December 6, 2025,” said an ED source.
The ED has alleged that Mr. Vadra got the interiors of the London property done, even though it was bought by Mr. Bhandari. “He used to stay in the said property even though the ownership of the property kept changing…,” the source alleged .
Mr. Bhandari was declared a fugitive economic offender by a Delhi court in July. India’s request for his extradition has been turned down by a UK court. He fled to London soon after the Income-Tax Department conducted searches against him in 2016.
In 2017, the ED initiated a money-laundering probe against Mr. Bhandari and others, based on a complaint filed by the Income-Tax Department under the anti-black money law .The agency had earlier submitted two complaints in Mr. Bhandari’s case.
Earlier in July, the ED had filed a prosecution complaint naming Mr. Vadra in connection with alleged irregularities in a land deal in Shikohpur (Haryana).
