The CPI State secretary G. Eswaraiah on Wedneday (December 3) slammed the coalition government for handing over State’s education and healthcare sectors to private entities. He said corporate entities such as Sri Chaitanya, Narayana and private universities have now reached a level of dominance in the education sector. The government is reportedly preparing to hand over ten medical colleges and four teaching hospitals to private players under the PPP model, transferring public land, resources, building construction, staff appointments and salaries worth hundreds of crores of rupees to private interests. Mr. Eswaraiah demanded the annulment of Government Orders 107 and 108 and emphasised that medical colleges and teaching hospitals should remain under government control.
