The City police have enforced night traffic restrictions on the national highway bypass in connection with the construction of the Eenchakkal flyover.
Traffic arrangements will be in place on the Chakka-Thiruvallam road from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. from December 5 to December 16.
According to a statement issued by the office of the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Traffic South Sub-Division Thiruvananthapuram, vehicular traffic is not allowed on the bypass from the Thiruvallam side to the Poonthura side and from the Eenchakkal side to the Kumarichantha side.
Vehicles from the Kovalam side to the Kazhakuttam side should reach the bypass road via the Thiruvallam-Ambalathara-Attakulangara-Statue-VJT-Pattoor-Chacka route. Vehicles from the Kazhakuttam side to the Kovalam side should take the Chacka service road-Pettah-Pattoor-Asan Square-Palayam-Statue-Attakulangara-Manacaud-Thiruvallam route.
Vehicles going from the Killipalam-Powerhouse Road side to the Kazhakuttam side via Eenchakkal should take the Choorakattupalayam-Thampanoor-Panavila-Asan Square-Pattoor- Chacka or the Sreekanteswaram-Uppidamoodu-Pettah-Chacka route to reach the bypass road.
Small vehicles coming from the Kovalam side to the airport should take the Kumarichantha-Paruthikuzhi service road and then the Kallumoodu-Ponnara Paalam-Valiathura-Shanghumughom route. Small vehicles, including cars going from the Attakulangara side to the Chacka side, should take the Vazhappally-Sreekanteswaram-Uppidamoodu-Nalumukku-Pettah- Chacka route, said the police in a statement on Thursday.
