On the first day of receiving nominations for the first phase of Gram Panchayat Elections-2025 in Telangana, 3,242 nominations were received for 4,236 Sarpanch posts and 1,821 for 37,440 ward member posts on Thursday. The last date to file the nominations for this phase is (5 p.m.) November 29, 2025. The list of contesting candidates would be published on December 3, 2025.
The elections would be held in three phases — while the first phase polling would be held on December 11, the subsequent second and third phases on December 14 and 17 respectively. There are a total of 12, 278 village panchayats and 1.12 lakh wards.
The election notice for the first phase was issued on Thursday. The poll related activity has begun in several districts. Gram Panchayats were divided into clusters to receive the nominations. In Sangareddy district, the venues were announced and arrangements were made there.
A Media Centre was inaugurated by Vikarabad Collector Prateek Jain and General Observer Shaik Yasmeen Basha in the district on Thursday.
