A first year engineering student died under mysterious circumstances in the college hostel of Koneru Lakshmaiah University (KLU), at Vaddeswaram village in Guntur district on Tuesday (December 02, 2025). The university staff shifted the body to a private hospital, who alerted the police.
The deceased identified as Vari Suresh Reddy (19), a native of Bapatla district, was pursuing Computer Science Engineering (CSE). He was staying in the hostel. Guntur Superintendent of Police Vakul Jindal said that the Tadepalli police registered a case and took up investigation. The SP said that the university management claimed that the student was found dead in the hostel room.
Meanwhile, leaders of various students unions and the hostel mates staged a protest in front of the university alleging harassment by the institute management. They demanded a probe into the death of the student.
