Ensure proper infrastructure in government schools

Students Federation of India (SFI) and school students staged a demonstration at the Dindigul Collectorate urging the authorities concerned to ensure that all the government schools in the district had proper infrastructure in place.

The members demanded that adequate buses be operated on all the major routes during the school hours for the benefit of the students. It should be ensured that adequate buses are operated in the mornings as well as in the evenings so that the students travel to the educational institutions comfortably, they said.

They also demanded that the authorities should ensure that banned tobacco products are not sold, particularly in places near the educational institutions. The authorities should take strict action against those who were involved in the sale of banned products and curb the menace, they said.

The vacancies to the posts of Physical Education Teachers should be filled in all educational institutions. It should be ensured that the internal complaints committees work in an efficient manner. The committee should look into the complaints and take proper action in order to ensure a safe and secure environment, they said.

The members also submitted a petition to the Dindigul Collector in this regard following the demonstration.
