As part of the Special Intensive Revision of electoral roll in the Union Territory, the Election Department has distributed Enumeration Forms to 9.76 lakh voters out of the total 10.21 lakh electors in Puducherry and Karaikal districts of the Union Territory.
Chief Electoral Officer P. Jawahar said at a press conference that as of 2 p.m. on Monday, the department was able to cover 95.61% of the total electorate as far as distribution of the EF was concerned in both the districts..Â
Of the total electorate of 8.51 lakh in Puducherry district, forms have been distributed to around 8.08 lakh voters. The Booth Level Officers could not distribute 43,465 forms to the electors and 11,841 forms could not be collected back from the voters after distribution in Puducherry district.
As far the digitisation of the collected forms, the CEO said a total of 4,86,844 Enumeration Forms have been digitally recorded in Puducherry. Among the two districts, Karaikal tops in terms of distribution and digitisation of the forms. The EFs were distributed to around 1.68 lakh electors out of the total 1.69 lakh voters. The department was able to digitise around 1.02 lakh forms so far in Karaikal, Mr. Jawahar said.Â
Electors can check the status of their submitted EF on https://voters.eci.gov.in using their EPIC number.
