AP Legislative Assembly Estimates Committee Chairman V. Jogeswara Rao said that they will submit proposals to the State government recommending that the Meghadrigedda Reservoir be handed over to the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) after carrying out required repairs. “The Meghadrigedda reservoir is currently under the Irrigation Department and proposals will be submitted to the Chief Minister to hand it over to GVMC after necessary repair works,” he said
Mr. Jogeswara Rao along with committee members E. Sambasiva Rao, N. Jayakrishna, Varudu Kalyani and a few others held a review meeting with officials from various departments at the District Collector’s conference hall on Wednesday. During the meeting, District Collector M.N. Harendhira Prasad and other officials presented the details regarding the development works undertaken in the district, expenditure, and estimates prepared for the past financial years.
Later, addressing the media, Mr. Jogeswara Rao said that the committee members shared various suggestions and opinions regarding project costs, preparation of estimates, and other related matters. He also stated that the government allocates budgets with specific goals, and that the committee reviewed each department to understand whether those objectives were met. He explained that discussions were also held on what infrastructure and changes might be needed to help departments achieve their future targets.
