A New Module Legal Camp was held at Vignan University in Guntur district in coordination with Vignan Law College under the aegis of the State Legal Services Authority, on Saturday. It focused on the National Legal Services Authority (Effective Implementation of Poverty Alleviation Schemes) Scheme, 2015, and the NALSA (Legal Services to the Workers in the Unorganised Sector) Scheme, 2015.Â
Principal District Judge and District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Chairman B. Sai Kalyan Chakravarthi inaugurated the event. On the occasion, Mr. Chakravarthi stated that every citizen should be aware of the laws and conscious of their duties, and flagged the dangers of youth getting addicted to drugs and indulging in ragging. He informed the gathering that eligible individuals could receive free legal aid and cases that could be compromised should be settled through the Lok Adalat.Â
1st Additional Senior Civil Judge Y. Gopala Krishna, DLSA Secretary Syed Ziauddin, Vignan Institute of Law Director P.S. Rakshit, Dean of School of Law and Management K. Kalpana, Lead Bank Manager Mahipal Reddy, Assistant Labour Commissioner Gayatri and Bar Association President Y. Siva Suryanarayana were among those who spoke at the event.Â
Prizes were later distributed to the winners of essay writing competition on Constitution Week. In order to create awareness on the importance of safe driving, helmets were given to students.
